SVIMS – Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women, Tirupati, was established in 2014 as a dedicated government medical college for women under the aegis of Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) University. It is the only women-exclusive medical college in Andhra Pradesh, created with the vision of empowering women in medicine and healthcare.
Starting with 150 MBBS seats, the intake was increased to 175 seats from 2019, making it one of the few medical colleges in India exclusively training women doctors. The college is situated on a unitary campus at Alipiri Road, Tirupati, with teaching hospital, hostels, residential quarters, College of Nursing, and College of Physiotherapy all integrated within the SVIMS campus.
