Government Medical College, Handwara (GMC Handwara, Urdu: گورنمنٹ میڈیکل کالج ھندوڑہ) is a newly established secondary referral medical college located in Handwara, Kupwara district, Jammu & Kashmir. Founded in 2023, it is affiliated with the University of Kashmir and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
The college began with an annual intake of 100 MBBS students and is associated with one of the largest hospitals in Kupwara district, serving as a major healthcare hub. In September 2025, GMC Handwara was also allotted 24 Diplomate of National Board (DNB) seats across multiple specialties, further strengthening its postgraduate education and clinical training capabilities.
