Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, is a premier autonomous medical teaching and healthcare institution established by the State Government of Uttar Pradesh. Situated near Kasna town in Gautam Buddha Nagar, GIMS stands as an apex center for medical education, research, and advanced tertiary care. The institute is affiliated with King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, and conducts MBBS and postgraduate courses, including DNB programs in Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Pediatrics, and Anesthesia.
The foundation stone was laid on 13 May 2008 by Hon’ble Chief Minister Kumari Mayawati, and the hospital initially operated as Manyawar Kashiram Multi-Specialty Hospital. The OPD began functioning on 2 April 2013, emergency services started on 15 August 2014, and the institute was officially registered as GIMS on 15 February 2016, modeled on SGPGI Lucknow.

Admissions are based on NEET-UG merit followed by Uttar Pradesh NEET counselling conducted by DMET, Lucknow.
GIMS focuses on research and innovation, with 120+ ongoing projects, a Viral Research & Diagnostic Laboratory, Skill Development Centre, and medical incubation facilities.
The institute runs a 500-bedded hospital, providing outpatient, inpatient, emergency, diagnostic, surgical, and specialty care. Patient load is about 1,500–2,000 daily OPD visits and 350+ admissions.
GIMS offers MBBS and DNB programs in specialties such as Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Pediatrics, and Anesthesia, with plans for future postgraduate courses.
The institute admits 100 MBBS students annually, with the first batch starting in 2019.

The institute is located in Greater Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar district, Uttar Pradesh, near Kasna town and about 40 km from Delhi NCR.
