Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College (DRPGMC), located at Tanda in Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh, is one of the most reputed government medical colleges in North India. Established with the vision of providing quality medical education and advanced healthcare services, DRPGMC is affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
The college traces its roots back to 1952, when the foundation of a TB sanatorium was laid by Punjab Governor Mr. Chandulal Trivedi, inaugurated later in 1958 by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India. In 1996, the foundation stone for the medical college was laid, and by 2008, the modern hospital facilities were dedicated to the public. The institution achieved permanent recognition from the MCI (now NMC) in 2010.
