Dhubri Medical College & Hospital (DMCH), located at R.K. Mission Road, Jhagrarpar, Dhubri, is the 9th government medical college in Assam. Established under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme “Establishment of new Medical Colleges attached with existing District/Referral Hospitals”, it was envisioned to enhance medical education and improve healthcare facilities in Western Assam.

The foundation stone was laid on 17 February 2017 in the presence of Hon’ble former Union Health Minister Shri J.P. Nadda, former Chief Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, and former Health Minister (now CM) Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. DMCH was formally approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC) on 23 August 2022, with an annual intake of 100 MBBS students from the academic session 2022-23.

Academically, DMCH is affiliated with Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS), Guwahati, ensuring high standards in medical education. Strategically located near the India-Bangladesh international border and serving neighboring districts, DMCH plays a pivotal role in healthcare delivery for the region.
