All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Vijaypur, Jammu, inaugurated in February 2024, is a premier medical research university and hospital located in Samba district, Jammu division, J&K.
Conceived in 2015 and laid down by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2019, AIIMS Jammu represents a major healthcare milestone in the Union Territory. It is part of the AIIMS network across India, providing world-class medical education, patient care, and research opportunities.
With a 750-bed hospital, AIIMS Vijaypur aims to bridge the healthcare gap for the people of Jammu & Kashmir, who earlier had to travel to Chandigarh or New Delhi for specialized treatment. It currently offers MBBS courses, with intake increasing gradually, and will soon expand into PG and super-specialty programs.
